Frequently Asked Questions
|
| |
|
| Q. |
What is Play4150 ? |
| |
| A. |
Play4150 is a service that allows people to play the UK National Lottery as
part of a Syndicate. |
|
| Q. |
Do I have to live in the UK to play ? |
| |
| A. |
No. The site is geared to UK players, you'll see things
expressed in £'s and pence, but as long as you're above the required age to
play lotteries in your country, state or province, then you're welcome to join. |
|
| Q. |
How large can any one Syndicate be ? |
| |
| A. |
The size of the Syndicates is a trade off between
increasing our chances of winning and making any winnings worth having.
Currently the maximum number of lines for a single Syndicate are set
to: Main Lotto and Euromillions 30 lines, Thunderball 20 lines and Daily
Play 10 lines.
|
|
| Q. |
What are these lines you've mentioned ? |
| |
| A. |
A line is a group of 6 numbers that you would normally
enter on to your Lottery ticket. Each line in a Play4150 syndicate corresponds
directly to a line on a Camelot lottery ticket. |
|
| Q. |
Can I have more than 1 line ? |
| |
| A. |
Yes. There is no limit on the number of lines you can
purchase for the lottery draws. |
|
| Q. |
How much does each line cost ? |
| |
| A. |
For the UK Main draws held Wednesday and Saturday, each
line costs £1.50 per draw (approx. $2.80 or €2.30).
For the Euromillions draw each line costs £2.00 (approx. $3.70 or €3.10) |
|
| Q. |
If the lottery ticket is £1, or £1.50 why does
it cost £1.50, or £2.00 for the same line from Play4150 ? |
| |
| A. |
£1, or £1.50 goes towards buying your lottery ticket;
the 50p goes towards the administration, management and improvement of the
Play4150 service. However, if you deposit money using Internet Banking we'll add
3.4% + 20p of this amount back to your account. |
|
| Q. |
Can I pick my own line of numbers ?
|
| |
| A. |
Yes. In order to maximize our chances of winning we
stipulate that all numbers within all Syndicates must be unique. However, don't
worry about this when picking your numbers as the system will check and warn
you if they've been duplicated. |
|
| Q. |
I find picking numbers really stressful, can you pick
them for me ?
|
| |
| A. |
Yes. Believe it or not we have a system for picking
numbers that is described in more detail here.
Just click the Pick button to the right of the lottery line when
you're picking your numbers, and you'll get the next available line of numbers
from the Play4150 number generator.

|
| Q. |
Ok, I've got my numbers, and I'm entering draws, how
are any winnings paid out ? |
| |
| A. |
All money won by a Syndicate in a single draw is pooled
together. The system takes 90% of that money and divides it into the number of
lines held by all members in that syndicate. The remaining 10% is divided into
the lines held by members of other Syndicates, even if those Syndicates are
being played in other Draws. However, you have to play your line in those other
syndicates in order to qualify for a portion of the 10% winnings pot. If your
line doesn't go into a draw then you will not qualify for any share of winnings
from any Syndicate win. |
|
| Q. |
Does this mean that if I have more lines in a Syndicate
I'll get a bigger share of the winnings ? |
| |
| A. |
The simple answer is Yes.
For example if 20 lines go into a draw, and you own 5 of them, you would get 5
times more of the winning share than if you just own a single line. |
|
| Q. |
What happens if I have no money in my Play4150 account
before the draw ? |
| |
| A. |
Your numbers are made inactive and would not be played.
This means that you would miss out on any share of the winnings from that or
any other winning syndicate, so it's best to keep your balance topped up.
The easiest way to ensure that all your lines are played is to take up a
monthly subscription with us. |
|
| Q. |
Are winnings paid to me straight away ? |
| |
| A. |
The money is held in your Play4150 account, and you can
either withdraw it or use it to play more lines. For withdrawals we will
require your bank details so we can transfer the money directly back to you
without any fees. Once a payment has been initiated please allow up to 7
working days for receipt of your money into your bank account. |
|
| Q. |
Ok. So I'm playing UK National Lottery draws as part of a Play4150 Syndicate,
can I also play the EuroMillions in the same way ? |
| |
| A. |
Yes, you can play the EuroMillions as part of a Syndicate by clicking on
the EuroMillions link when entering your numbers. The cost of a line in a
EuroMillions syndicate is £2.00 (approx. $3.70 or €3.10) |
|
| Q. |
Ok. When I've been looking at my numbers some of the draws
have (L) by them, what is this ? |
| |
| A. |
About 2 hours before the draw and until we receive the confirmed results,
we lock all the syndicates for that draw.
This prevents anyone from joining a syndicate in that draw, or accidentally
removing their lines. Normally we receive confirmed results from Camelot at
around 11:30pm on the evening of the draw, once any winnings have been
distributed to Play4150 active member accounts the syndicates are unlocked. For
the time being we have locked the Thunderball games, they will be enabled on
request. |
|
| Q. |
Ok. Are you guys in Play4150 syndicates ? |
| |
| A. |
Yes, and we pay the same as all other members. We want to
win as much as anyone else, and we've started this service as a simple way of
maximizing all our chances. |
